We would like to acknowledge and thank the many donors who believed in this initiative and provided financial support for the design and construction of the Ostomy Exhibit. Our major financial donors were Ostomy Canada Society, Ostomy Toronto, and Nurses Specializing in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Canada.

To the Zane Cohen Centre for Digestive Diseases for recognizing the medical and educational significance of this exhibit.  Appreciation is extended to Dr. Zane Cohen, Director, and Salah Metwaly, Director, Strategy, IS and OPS Management, for believing and supporting the importance of preserving this aspect of caring for digestive diseases.

To NSWOCC for recognizing the educational value of the Innovation in Ostomy Care exhibit to nursing students and practitioners in wound, ostomy and continence care, as well as for all health professionals involved in the care of individuals with an ostomy. Their commitment to continuing education has been generously provided by allowing national and international access to the exhibit with its placement on their website.

To Dianne Garde (Canada’s 3rd Enterostomal Therapist) for providing the vast collection of ostomy devices representing nine decades of ostomy innovation and care as well as being co-developer for the Innovation in Ostomy Care exhibit.

To Brenna Ardiel, BA (Hons.) Archeology and Museum Management and Curatorship (Cert.), for designing the Innovation in Ostomy Care exhibit and co-developing the Innovation in Ostomy Care website.

And to Myra Gordon, PhD for generously sponsoring this website initiative and for believing that the Innovation in Ostomy Care must be available for all to view.

Sincerely,

Kathryn Kozell, BA, BScN, MScN, NSWOCC, coordinator and co-developer of the Innovation in Ostomy Care exhibit and website.
