Dr. Lapides from Michigan, USA developed this two-piece urostomy pouch system. A large condom-like sheath fitted over the stoma. The sheath was pulled through a soft foam ring secured by a belt worn around the person’s waist. The end of the sheath had a long drainage tube which connected to another tube on a leg bag. By way of gravity the urine drained continuously into the leg bag, which would be emptied as required. |
