Stoma caps are used for coverage of the stoma during intervals of one to three days of colonic bowel movement. These self-adhesive caps are not designed for capacity and are used once and then discarded. Charcoal filters set into the design of the cap control flatus odour. Small perforations through the filter eliminate flatus accumulation and pressure within the cap, thereby preventing the potential release of the adhesive from the peristomal skin. Caps are available in various sizes and shapes. |
